Accelerated B.S. and M.S.

If you're interested in fast-tracking your advanced education, the accelerated B.S. and M.S. program is for you.

The program offers academically talented individuals the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Science in physics and a Master of Science in physics and applied physics in a minimum of five years by taking up to 12 hours of graduate course during their undergraduate senior year. These graduate courses count for both your B.S. and M.S. degrees. This means you can finish your education with 138 credits instead of the usual 150 credits needed if you were to pursue these degrees separately.

Having both these degrees will make you stand out when you're looking for jobs in research and development in the science, teaching and technology industries. It will also improve your chances of getting into a Ph.D. program in physics if you're thinking about further studies.

Admission requirements, degree requirements, recommended course sequences and more information about the program can be found at VCU Bulletin.
